Foreign Office, October 1, 1904.

WITH reference to your telegram No. 15 of the 23rd ultimo on the subject of the mutual protection of British and Portuguese trade-marks in China, I request that you will inform the Portuguese Government that copies of Mr. Cartwright's note of the 4th August to Senhor de Lima and of his reply, dated the 8th August, which formed the inclosures to Mr. Cartwright's despatch No. 74 of the 10th August, have been forwarded to His Majesty's Minister at Peking to-day, in order that effect may be given to the Arrangement agreed upon between the two Governments.
